Description
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP
Create a one-of-a-kind skirt of merino wool and silk that is a wearable piece of art. This workshop will take you through the steps of how to layout a design, then felt, full and sculpt your personal skirt to fit your body perfectly. The techniques taught in this class were learned from Charity van der Meer, a world renowned felting designer and artist who will teach an advanced class on making a wearable art nuno felted dress in June 2017. The simple but beautiful techniques taught in the felted skirt workshop will give you the enough experience to attend Charity’s advanced class.
All materials are included, but you are welcome to bring silk, yarn, locks or roving in a chosen color to further embellish your skirt.
We will have a potluck lunch, giving everyone time to socialize with the instructor and fellow students.
What to bring:
- Optional: silk, yarn, locks or roving in a preferred color
- Something to share for the potluck lunch
- Personal beverages and snacks
- Layered clothing (that you don’t mind getting dirty) for variations in weather
- Notebook and camera if desired
